As a first-time user, you can download Citrix Workspace app for Mac from Citrix.com or your own download site. You can then set up an account by entering an email address instead of a server URL. Citrix Workspace app for Mac determines the Citrix Gateway or StoreFront server associated with the email address. Then it prompts the user to log on and continue the installation. This feature is referred to as email-based account discovery.

You can also uninstall Citrix Workspace app for Mac manually by opening the .dmg file. Select Uninstall Citrix Workspace App and follow the on-screen instructions. The .dmg file is the file that is downloaded from Citrix when installing Citrix Workspace app for Mac for the first time. If the file is no longer on your computer, download the file again from Citrix Downloads to uninstall the application.
Important update about Citrix ReceiverBeginning August 2018, Citrix Receiver will be replaced by Citrix Workspace app. While you can still download older versions of Citrix Receiver, new features and enhancements will be released for Citrix Workspace app.
WARNING: It is best practice to save files to your CAE filespace, or setup UW storage through KUMO. DO NOT SAVE TO THE LOCAL COMPUTER unless you are certain that you are saving to YOUR computer and that you verify that the file is on YOUR computer. The Default place to save in XenApp is on the XenApp server. This will cause your files to be lost forever. See links at the bottom of the page for more info.1. Click continue again, read over the license agreement, and agree to the license agreement. 4. If you wish, you can now change the destination where the receiver will install. Once you have decided on a destination, click install. 5. Next, you will be asked if you want to add an account. Leave the "Add Account" box unchecked and click continue When the installation finishes, the installation window will say installation successful. Click Close 6. Navigate to , log in with your CAE credentials, and authorize with Duo, you will see the following screen: At this point, you only have to click on an app to launch the program. 7. If it launches in browser, click on the gear in the upper right and select "Account Settings."8. Select "Change Citrix Workspace app"9. Select "Detect Citrix Workspace App"From here, return to remote.engr.wisc.edu and you should be able to open any app in Workspace.If you are using Google Chrome to login and have a loading issue, please try another web browser, such as Safari. There have been issues in the past with Chrome and remote.engr.wisc.edu on the Apple platform.
NOTE: Due to the large size of many files, especially CAD files, accessing them directly from a cloud service results in slower operation of the application. The best practice when using the Citrix Desktop platform is to save the file on your Engineering Z:\ drive. This can be done by saving to Desktop or Documents on the Citrix Desktop session or by browsing to your Z:\ drive through File Explorer. If you need to save files through a cloud storage service, please make sure to download them to your Z:\ drive first, then open the files from your Z:\ driveReminder: Citrix does not require the use of a VPN. Using a VPN may throttle your bandwidth and cause the application or desktop to run slower.

The Virtual Desktop website is designed to detect whether you have a current version of the Citrix Workspace app installed. It is also configured to launch applications directly when you click on an application icon (as opposed to having to download a file and then open the file to launch an application). Unfortunately, recent changes in support in Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox have caused one or both of these features to stop functioning unless you are running the most current version of the Citrix Workspace App.
If you are using BC Apps on Windows using Chrome, and have not used the Citrix Receiver previously on that device, you may see a message prompting you to download an ICA file. If this occurs, do the following:
